Does this sound normal?

Your state and coverage limits would be helpful.
Mine is:
Louisiana
300/500
3 vehicles (2 nice and one commuter)
500 deductibles
$450/mo
I find it insane to be paying that much, but those coverage limits are required to have an umbrella policy. And that was the best price after shopping around with several companies.

I pay around $500 for 6 months on two vehicles. Just have minimum liability tho. I’m pissed thinking that’s too much knowing I’ll never use it. Im 47, haven’t been in an accident since high school, and don’t drive like an a-hole.
Same for home insurance. Owned homes for 20+ years and have never made a claim. It’s like writing a check and throwing it in the trash.

I pay for 3 autos and mine comes out to 6 months = 1850. Two with full coverage and 1 with minimum. So a little over 300. Yours does seem expensive. Two of the drivers are early 20's which doesnt help.

Nola area, 2 vehicles, 300/100 w/ Progressive
500/1000 deductible
$820 for 6 mo.
It seems like I just need to keep jumping back and forth between Progressive and Geico every 5 years to keep it down.
Never made a claim before.

Do you guys have a particular method that you use to determine how much liability to carry? Or do you let an insurance agent just tell you what to carry?
Right now I'm just carrying 25/50 and with the world the way it is, I'm starting to wonder if I'm short... but at the same time I don't want to overpay for something I don't need, and/or encourage Gordon and his friends to sue my insurance company if they see a bigger limit.
I'm also going to be adding a daughter to the policy within the next 6 months most likely.

I don't use an agent, but I've just done with my parents have always advised me in terms of this to "protect" my assets since I have a wife and kids.

Louisiana, 2 vehicles, $300k/$300k, $100k property, $1,000 deductibles
$1187/6 months
2019 F150 and 2023 Yukon Denali
I’m saving nearly $900 per 6 months using the GEICO driving app. Highly recommend based on the prices in this thread.

If you have literally any decent vehicle involved or any personal assets to protect, you’re woefully short.

I’m at $555 for two vechiles and no accidents.

We pay $285 for 2 vehicles (paid off) one 10 years old and one 5 years old. Both full coverage. I fully expect for this to go up.

2024 Audi, 2019 GMC AT4, 2020 Civic, and 2018 Civic. Full coverage max liability, two college students, and one accident with no tickets.
My renewal came in at $13,900 for the year. I was able to get it down to $4200 for 6 months with Geico. The $13,900 renewal was with American General.
