he has a chance to stay real close to home, play for a good offensive mind, comptete early for the starting job and help build a program

It is a possibility but the only time State has done well was followed by major recruiting violations. It is a hole of a program that will never seriously compete for championships.

The lure of SEC and national championship possibilities is too intriguing. Can you blame him?

Does he want to build a program though and take his lumps? Plus with Mullen does he want to go somewhere knowing he's gonna take a pounding with that type of offense. Everything I've seen is he's more of a drop back passer to complement Shepard. Crowton adjusts the offense depending on personnel. Mullen is running the same offense he ran at Florida.

Can't blame him if he does go to MSU though but I think they have a more mobile QB already committed - Tyler Russell.

State has Tyler Russell committed as well, so its not like he wouldn't have to compete for the job.

Wow, you had to ask why a football player would want to go to LSU instread of MSU?

You are on the wrong board and probably the wrong website entirely.

The kid sees the competition at LSU and still wants to be a part of this class as an early enrollee. He has the right DNA to compete for the job. He's coming in with no expectations and walking into a situation that he can have an impact on from Day One.

He ain't no Robert Lane, that's for sure. We need more guys like him.

not really Mullen's sort of QB ..I know they took the local kid Brantley a couple years back, but Mullen's offense isn't flattered by this type of QB

I spoke to his dad today and David said he will be in BR on January the 9th. Ya'll don't know what hell this guy was put through choosing LSU over state.

Garrett doesn't seem like a Mullen QB, but if he wanted to give it a try I wouldn't blame the kid.

Yeah Garrett is just the prototypical spread option threat. Great thread.

Let him come to LSU first and figure out if he has a shot to eventually start. You never know…he may be the next three star Heisman Trophy winner like Sam Bradford. If he figures out that he doesn’t have a descent shot, then he can transfer to Miss St. or wherever.

Because he can't be in two places at once.

He can take Flynn's route to the NFL and star as a 5th. year senior.

because Sly apparently went against his word on him. I know Sly isn't there any more, but since that incident he has committed to LSU, a program that gives him a chance to play for national championships with 4-5 star talent around him on offense.

kind of funny since his dad is president of his local MSU alumni chapter or something like that.
