I love the Ulterra and wouldn't trade the convenience of power trim for the world, but the new remotes are infuriating. I had the 1st gen Ulterra and it fell off of my boat in the middle of Lake Pontchartrain (another story for another day). Bought the 2nd gen only to find out that the new remotes are basically like playing a gameboy and they're impossible to operate without looking at. You have to cycle through menus to get to the trim option, whereas with the first generation remote, there was a dedicated button. I called my dealer buddy to order one of the first gen remotes and then found out that MK made it such that the first gen remotes weren't even compatible with the new bluetooth motors. So frustrating.

It's the cheapest thing out of this whole operation yet costs more than 10% of the price of a whole new trolling motor and cannot be made reliably???

The remote control situation with these things is ridiculous. It's enough to make me want a different brand.

The foot control isn't a sure thing either. Let one big sloppy fat dude stomp on it and you might be finding out the speed adjust no longer work. Ask me how I know.
