I always wondered why these college presidents feel loyal to the NCAA.

There are still sports that are run by the NCAA, just not football. I think the NCAA will eventually be no more, but we aren't to that point yet.

The membership of the NCAA is comprised of the college presidents. It was created by them, and they vote on every decision. The people that work for the NCAA were either hired or appointed by the presidents. If they disband the NCAA and make another group, they will just have to do a lot more paperwork to have the same issues.
