As obtuse as assuming that Ferris Bueller was Broderick's first film role? It wasn't even his first lead. The guy was doing a range of roles from Ladyhawke to Max Dugan Returns to WarGames, as well as his character roles before he landed the Ferris role. The guy had a Broadway and film career prior to Ferris.

I never once said nor implied this. I know very well of WarGames, etc.

Perhaps I wasn’t clear about the context of iconic or most known as roles.

Also, someone mentioned typecasting and Winkler is on record stating how they were trying to type cast him as Fonz.

Yes those would all be valid disputes to the topic and again I’m not agreeing that he fits the topic

Bringing up his broadway career doesn’t make sense tho, strange to use that as your point no one on this board is going to be like “oh yeah I know that guy from his early broadway roles”
