Always shoot both eyes open. Take the red dot and cover the front with tape. You will learn to be target focused and not dot focused. Just dry fire and practice drawing and you will eventually get it. Red dot occlusion is a very common way to train with the dot.

Read up on it a bit..why not just turn it off? Saw people make kydex covers for the front, but mine isn’t built for something like that.
