Iron Man and Captain American didn’t go away because of racism. The actors stopped wanting to play those roles.

XMen are infinitely more popular and there are no "mutant" movies in production or even announced that I am aware of

Phoenix
Wolverine
Rogue
Professor X
Nightcrawler
Beast
Gambit
Adam Warlock
Silver Surfer
Ghost Rider
Iceman
All of those are more popular than Captain Marvel. She's just had a movie so she should be at the height of her relevance, right? Her latest comic is #91 out of 100 for the month of February. X-men have multiple comics ahead of her. Also ahead of her are the likes of Darkwing Duck, I Hate Fairlyland, and Betsy Braddock Captain Britain.
Like I said in my last post: Just now they are, 5 years after acquiring the rights. In that span, we've had The Eternals, Shang Chi, America Chavez, Ms. Marvel, the Marvels, She-Hulk, Echo, Gaia. Top tier characters they chose there with no agenda at all.
