The fact that Spider-Man: No Way Home did so well compared to the other movies is quite telling. It made nearly $2 billion internationally; over $800 million domestic.

Also keep in mind Sony has significant say in Spiderman's creative. He is their cash cow, they aren't going to let Marvel ruin him like they have done with their own characters.
