Nvidia earnings out - beats across the board and raised guidance (bumped post from Feb)

ETA: $22B revenue beats, guides for $24B this quarter.
Gross margins of 76%, guides to 76.3% this quarter.
Earnings and guidance from Nvidia this evening will arguably be the most important part of the current 2024 narrative. Cracks have started to show in the stock prices of the massive AI run of late, but they’re still very near ATHs and need perfect guidance to continue IMO.
Have little doubt about Nvidia over any longer period of time, but still a ton of volatility priced into this report in the short term. I saw yesterday implied week-end moves were close to +/- 16%, which is understandable IMO. I’m long the stock because timing seems futile, and it’s still cheaper on a forward PE basis than its 5-yr average, but opening tomorrow at $600 or $800 wouldn’t surprise me. I’d be absolutely drumming up cash to add on a dip personally.

Would also look at sympathy plays if there is any pullback. I like VRT and ASML with any weakness too.

I’ve had Netflix for a long time and it will dip after earnings sometimes but recovers higher. Industry leaders should hold up long term. I’m more interested to see if they will announce split… because that will give more positivity

Hard to imagine the guide being anything short of spectacular. But will it be spectacular enough?

Theres no doubt they will beat earnings but after that who knows what will happen. Wouldnt shock me to see it go down like it did last earnings report. But for long term this stock i think might be a gold mine.
