Police bodycam video is out.

Girl who later died is telling officer that the girls who beat her were talking about her and her friends in the bathroom, so she went over to them and poured water on them. They came at her, she came at them, she threw one of them into a paper towel dispenser and then they got her on the ground and beat her until she blacked out. Her friends joined in at one point as well.

This was a fight between two groups of teenagers that this girl, by her own admission, started by pouring water on them. Doesn’t mean it was a fair fight, though she does mention it was 3 of them plus her and at least 2 friends, so it may have been 3 on 3. Doesn’t mean beating anyone unconscious is acceptable or that the girl deserved to die, though the preliminary ME info says the death wasn’t due to trauma.

It DOES mean the narrative that was painted in the media has been blown to hell.

Yeah it became clear this was what happened pretty early, but I'm glad they released the video so the dumbest among us can finally admit it to themselves.

ETA: It's weird that Dagny doesn't seem to care, at all, that her mom is referring to her as "she" and "her" in the video. Yet activists bullied her parents into apologizing for correctly gendering her on their gofundme. Because no way teens would claim to be "nonbinary" just because it's cool right?
