Elon Musk is not going out on that limb. At least to any appreciable extent if at all. 450 million is still a sizeable chunk of change. What does Musk get for this "donation" ? It would not be seen as purely altruistic.

I don't think he could do that without Trump having to pay taxes on the $350 million. Still much better than Trump having paying the full amount, though.
