I’m a little old fashioned in that I do like to negotiate and I want to see at least a version of what I’m buying. I called BMW woodlands and told the seemingly green salesman I had a car in btr that I liked everything about except for the color. Asked if he could work up his best deal on one they were pulling off of truck. He did. I think he took 5k
Off. Started making plans to fly out and he called and apologized profusely for someone selling it to a walk in but reported they had another one that was more loaded that he would pull for me and sell for the price he had quoted before. So I got a better car and they took about 7900 off. Interior was a shade of darker brown but that didn’t bother me. Turned out the green salesman was just young but was a complete bmw nerd. He knew about every spec and feature and was thrilled to show us when we drove around. Absolute pleasure to work with.
I was quite sick of asking questions 55 + year old salesman didn’t know the answer to for a brand they represented.

Yea it's annoying as hell when you're dealing with someone who knows less about the product than you.

And it's completely inexcusable beyond like your first week on the job.

It's truly not that difficult to sit down for a couple of hours and learn the features of each model. Hell 90% of the features are identical model to model.

But then again, I assume most car salesman are not very bright, as most of them would be something other than a car salesman if they were.
