Maybe but what if he marries a girl who makes close to what he makes? That would be good, and it's not far fetched. Perhaps a decent car is what was needed to allow that to happen. Most girls who make a decent salary don't date guys who drive a $2000 beater.

If you would rather appear to be rich than actually be rich so that you can attract a gold digger, go for it.

If they make a decent salary but cant see past the car or truck one drives, maybe you dont need the girl.

I met my wife while driving a truck that had 175k on it and when I sold it shortly after we started dating I got 3500 for it. On our first dates she never asked why I parked heading out every place we went. Only later I told her it would not go in reverse.

Want to test a guys ingenuity and planning ability, drive around for a couple months with no reverse.
