You hate this for a guy that attempted to murder someone? Jesus dude, it’s not like he tore his ACL in winter conditioning. He straight up tried to kill someone. He doesn’t deserve your sympathy.

Alleged, and charged, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Could be "guilty" by association

It is always a sad situation when a young person makes stupid decisions. And you can hate that they made those decisions while understanding that the consequences are deserved. It is also understandable that someone would have sympathy for all the lives impacted by the stupidity, including the young person who made the stupid decision and threw away his potential life.

I remember the founding pastor of our church saying many years ago that any of us is capable of anything we have seen people do. "There but for the grace of god go I" basically. As he pointed out, small changes in your life could have sent you down a different path. Things like who your parents were and how they approached raising you, the neighborhood and neighbors you grew up around, things you were exposed to as a very young child or growing up, and many other things, He also went on to say it does not mean you don't deserve the consequences of your action or should be excused in any way. It is only an explanation for why someone may do something unthinkable for you or I.

I agree with your post of course. Having said that, I understand the other's posters point about "hate this for Holly". What I'm surprised about is was there any indication whatsoever that Holly was hanging around with the wrong crowd, had severe character issues, etc when he was in HS. I realize a lot of the time that being a BMOC (archaic acronym meaning big man of campus) allows you to get away with stuff but to my knowledge the guy in HS was squeaky clean. That is what he probably meant in his phrase. I think we all hate/are disappointed when a young person potentially throws away his life (after almost throwing away another person's life) pretty much in an isolated event.

Don’t know any major details, but I heard it started with somebody fighting his sister. I won't speculate anything further other than, if he did do something, hopefully it was in self defense.

Holly's LSU Team Clean Sweep Attorney wrote that statement telling everybody that he be innocent.

They're going with the "Mistaken Identity" Defense.

The way so many in the fan base worship and idolize the Little Darlings, regardless of what they do outside their LSU Sports participation, makes me nauseous.
