I didn't get this impression. Yes, he let her talk and obfucsate a bit but she is the elected DA she is going to get some preferential treatment. Should she? No, but it's a fact of life. She also calmed down after he threatened her with striking her testimony so he did what he needed to do.

You could also look at it as letting her say what she wanted to head off a potential appeal.

He let her give insanely long answers that didn’t have anything to do with the question and she was hostile as hell, calling the lawyers liars, etc. It was really inappropriate
