Some a-hole will create “Archibald Manning” or some variation to get him edited into the game, but a video up online and that will lead to a new lawsuit. I honestly think this is going to be a “one and done” situation with this game.

Wouldn't surprise me. At least we'll have a newer version for folks to work on over the next decade lol, and maybe it'll be possible to play it on next gen, unlike the PS3 NCAA14 that cannot.

The problem is more so the ability to share rosters. Who cares if one guy goes through the effort of re-naming a bunch of players if he has no way to share it?

They could just remove the ability to create/edit players and not have to worry about it.

I think EA is probably well aware of that possibility and is planning accordingly.

The old NCAA games came with everything except the player's name set to roster/player accurate. User-editors just had to change the player's name, but the player in the game already had the same height, weight, and skill ratings as the real player. Maybe EA could get around that by making Texas' backup QB in the game look completely different than Arch, have a different number, and skill ratings that don't remotely match Manning. Make the 2nd string QB for Texas in the game be a 5'11" black guy with dual threat QB skill ratings. Then if somebody goes through all the trouble of changing all of that to edit him into having the appearance and skill ratings of Manning, at least EA can argue that the game they produced didn't remotely have anything resembling players that opted out.

Or if the legal team doesn't think that argument is bullet proof in court, then the game probably just won't have downloadable user-created rosters and/or rosters that are editable at all.
