I put down new centipede sod in BR in December. How long do I have to wait to use pre emergents like Specticle Flo or post emergents like Celsius?

Celsius you can use during the summer. Pre em you can use in the fall.

So I need to wait until the summer for Celsius? Is there anything I can put down now? I have winter weeds coming up in the new sod.

Celsius works better in hot weather. New sod is typically stressed and chemicals can increase that stress. If your sod is rooted and has been for a while then you may be ok with msm. However, I would hand pull until I mowed it a couple times.

Isn’t one of the selling points of a centipede lawn is that it makes a dense lawn that chokes out the weeds? I don’t think this point held much truth to it in last summer’s drought, though.

The only selling point of centipede is that it is readily available for purchase at many different stores because you'll always be replacing dead spots.
