Both things can be true and aren’t mutually exclusive. Our record can be good and the team can also be trash.

Pelicans have a good chance of getting 50 wins for the just the second time ever. This despite a transparently fat super star, no true point guard, no backup center, and a bench of Naji, nance, Alvarado and Murphy.

If the Pels do get to 50 wins does Willie win coach of the year?

I'd say that's a pretty damn good record considering this is a young team and a young coach who just played as brutal of a schedule as any other team in the league. I'd also say you could probably tack on another 3 or 4 wins if Zion would have gotten a fair whistle.

And if this team had a competent head coach who still wasn’t trying to figure out rotations at this point in the season, and actually challenged his “stars” they would be sitting at 40 wins and people wouldn’t be rightfully anxious and pissed lol

One more thing, I just went through our games against the top 4 teams in the west and we are sitting at about .500 against them...which also means they are sitting at about .500 against us. The Pels are right there...

When I moved back to N.O. after living in L.A.( I had Clips season tickets), the main thing I missed and wanted was an NBA team. Then the
Hornets arrived and prayers were answered. I had no expectations for an NBA title anytime soon. The 2008 team was a blast. And the team was saved for New Orleans in 2009-2010. I’m happy with a competitive, entertaining team and make no apologies. Of course, a championship would be great, but I’m not going to let that goal spoil my enjoyment of the team when it’s playing well. We’re in good shape at this point of the season.
