Optics are one thing but reality of a situation is more important.. ruckert essentially ran his campaign and has been in lobbying forever…. The fact that he is in the administration and is part of the decision process is completely normal. If there’s something nefarious then they should report it but the mere fact that his wife may benefit is unsurprising

My goodness, our standards are disturbingly low, if you think this is "normal"
He was lobbying for this group 60 days ago, and his wife still is.

Most of y'all are probably too young to remember one of EWE's quotes when he was accused of packing a bunch of state boards with friends and political appointees. "Well yes. Who did you think I was going to appoint? My enemies?"
