Before or after he betrayed him?

He literally washed the feet of Judas and Simon Peter
And neither rejected God. Judas betrayed Him, but that doesn't mean he didn't believe He was the Messiah. Peter denied him amongst people he thought would drag him into the same trial as Jesus, but that doesn't mean He didn't believe Jesus was the Messiah. I probably do the same or worse most days, but it doesn't mean I don't believe Jesus to be exactly who the Bible says He is. The same as Jesus says in the Bible, "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak."

Neither of which rejected God.
Judas betrayed Jesus and later regretted it, leading to his suicide.
Peter denied knowing Jesus out fear for his life, did not
reject God. In fact he is credited with 2 letters (books) in the New Testament. He was martyred for Jesus by, at his request, being crucified upside down.
