Apparently you haven’t studied the aspects of military ambush. He shoots at the car on Houston Street, you have a crap load of trained Secret Service marksmen who’ll be looking right at him, plus at the first shot Greer the driver will floorboard it and boogie on up Houston. You wait until Kennedy is on Elm, then he can’t back up and every inch he moves forward, he’s a more exposed target.
