i think you're overdramatizing the responses. people like Paul Rudd and disagree with you. that's about it.

Drizz, i see where you are coming from. I was never a fan of Clueless, and for the longest time I could not stand him. but him as Brian Fantana in Anchorman changed my mind. Role Models, I love you man and others cemented him as one of my favs. even for all the shite Marvel gets, I loved him as Scott Lang in Antman.
and if you cannot watch his interviews with Conan about upcoming movie clips, and not laugh your arse off - then you don't have much of a sense of humor. (not you per say, I just mean in general)

A few years ago, someone tried to have a pretentious conversation with him about “his craft”. Rudd laughed and said something about knowing how he hit the career jackpot and he appreciates his good fortune.
Plus the man does not age.

no he doesn't
and his role in Only Murders was so good - had a lot of range to it. made you dislike him and then feel sorry for him all in the same role.

Paul Rudd is actually funny in an innate and non-cringe manner.
What needs to be explained is why so many men worship Ryan Reynolds and think he's funny/entertaining.

shut your whore mouth Damone - Ryan is a GD North American treasure

Ryan is really funny in several truly great comedy movies:
Waiting
Van Wilder
Just Friends
Deadpool 1 & 2
Free Guy
The Proposal
Detective Pikachu
Dude just has impeccable comedic timing, good physical comedy instincts, and commits fully to his roles (him stealing the deadpool costume from set to do his own viral marketing is a great example).
Paul Rudd has that unassuming every man charm about him while Ryan Reynolds is more zany/over the top. Paul feels like a relatable person who you’d want to be friends with and have a beer. Ryan is the crazy guy at the bar who stage dives after taking body shots and steals your girl, but you just can’t seem to hate him.
For NFL fans Paul Rudd is Kirk Cousins while Ryan Reynolds is Gronk.

He’s adorable
Honestly, really good answers to my question and appreciated. I need to see it in a different light.

Even when he breaks character he's funny.

He still looks exactly the same now as he did 25 years ago as Phoebe’s boyfriend on Friends

whether you love or hate Melissa McCarthy, that is one of the best outtakes.

i'll disagree. he's better in some things than others.
his best performance IMO is "I Love You, Man".
Role Models he's great in too.
I knew someone else would mention these roles as two of his best. Excellent movies that are highly underrated.

He's basically Tom Hanks in the 80s before he became a "serious" actor. He's a goofy, likable, inoffensively handsome guy who can be fit into any light hearted rom com or comedy.
He's the male version of the girl next door... that's funny.

There will always be roles for a guy like him. Plug in and play.

And from all reports, he's not a diva. He shows up and works, drops some jokes at the junkets and avoids scandal.
Being consistent and dependable in and industry where many aren't can go a long way.
