this is off topic but figured I'd ask since I saw your reply. I know you and ronk are very well respected on lawncare so wanted to know a VERY GENERIC timeline from spring - fall on what to put down and when. Here's what i have in mind for this year as a starting point:
Pre-emerge: very early spring as soon as soil gets to 50 (already did this, put down lesco 0-0-7 prodiamine)
Fertilizer: couple months later. Maybe late spring like April? No idea what kind to use, last year I used milorganite just because I'd heard it highly recommended
Fall: another pre-emerge to help prevent the cold weather weeds, maybe like October? I did not do this last year
Obviously this is a very rough timeline I'm still very much a novice and am trying to learn more year by year. Last year I put down a generic Scotts crabgrass preventer + feed type of thing early and milorganite in summer. I'm trying to tweak things for this year to do even better.

What type of grass do you have?

Well since you are in Birmingham, AL, bermudagrass lawn, I’ll always start suggesting you follow general recommendations of the AL Cooperative Extension Service (Auburn U) and I’m going to post a few links that can assist you with lawn management, maintainence, herbicide recommendation and month by month garden calendar which includes lawn recommendations.
Home Lawn Maintenance
Home Lawns: Chemical Weed Control
AL Gardener’s Calendar
If you like a one page “cheat” sheet, consider this lawn calendar template from the unit of GA which should be applicable to you in Birmingham (Auburn had had similar lawn calendars but I don’t see see them on their website any longer)
Hopefully before long a 2024 lawn thread should be stickeded to the top of the H&G page on TD - it was was removed a few weeks ago, but the OP did an excellent job of summarizing lawn care info recommended by many of the knowledgeable posters on this board in first 2 pages of the thread.
And of course always post your questions on here for lawn care guidance - more than few very knowledgeable people that can help with recommendations. And of course just follow all the lawn related posts - you’re going to become knowledgeable very quickly.
Back to your original question, you’ll likely want to begin fertilization once the lawn fully greens, and you’ve cut the lawn once or twice - I’m guessing that will be late April/early May in the Birmingham area. ronk is a lawn professional by trade and knows more about Bermudagrass than anyone on this board as his own lawn is bermuda so follow his recommendations on fertilizers, etc. over any other, including mine.
Lastly, b/c you referenced it in your post, avoid Weed & Feed products - handle your weed control and lawn fertlization as two separate lawn management activities.
