I think we'll be top 1/3, again. Which isn't a good place to be every year.

LOL, changing your tune now arent you? Def not what you said before. You have been whining about our dead cap all season.

And we're far from 2025, and you have no clue what the dead cap will be.

Saints have done this for a while, not just in the past few years. Loomis been doing this - nothing new.

Not at all.

Yes. You only want to be in the top 1/3 in dead cap if you are (1) rebuilding (had to cut lots of veteran salary); (2) forced to cut a QB; or (3) in a title window.

The ONLY one of those 3 paths that could/should last for more than one season is #3.

Do you think we have a title-contending team/roster/coaching staff?

We have an idea already. It can get really bad if something I'm bout to discuss occurs.

Loomis has been doing this using Latt and Ram as ATMs, with the expectation we could go to that well until their mid-30s. The one thing that can completely screw up this plan is if we had to deal with one earlier than expected. We may be having to deal with both of them this offseason.

Loomis already restructured Lattimore to trade him during the 2024 season (pushing something like $20M in dead cap onto 2025 with that deal alone), and Ram may have to retire.
