Wow, it's like something happened in 2020 before Biden was even in office that caused a sharp dip in consumer sentiment. And it has rebounded 20 points over the last year and a half.

FIFY. I will explain.

That charts shows people are still hurting. Period. When it gets back to precovid levels, you have a point. Right now, you have simply lost the argument.

From the time Biden entered office a major dip took place. In fact it was roughly a 39 point drop off. It still has over 30 points to return to pre covid and Trump era.

March 2021 was not "before Biden was even in office." Sentiment was nearly 90. Over the ensuing year, it plummeted to 50. It has only recovered about 1/2 that loss.

that caused a sharp dip
Incidentally, the cause of plummeting sentiment is obviously inflation.
The cause of inflation, though, was a demand-supply mismatch driven in this country largely by west coast restrictive transport regulations, port inefficiencies and union-based work stoppages. Instead of addressing the problem, pothole Pete took a couple of months off for childbirth, I guess recovering from his episiotomy?
