I saw and read some articles about it because I thought the same thing. Problem is when the cops arrive the person living there says they leased it. The person who owns it says bullshite. And the cops say it is a civil matter take it up with the courts.

For all the cops know it could be his house, he is an ex and you are trying to get them to throw him in jail for trespassing in his own home.

And when the "civil" matter is concluded, do these squatters then face criminal charges?
