The math isn’t the same for Vegas. 81 games a year to bring in convention sized crowds potentially… that spend a shite ton on gambling, alcohol, and $20 burgers. And hookers.

Yeah they struggle to get conventions and crowds in general to come to Vegas.

The studies are clear spending tax dollars on projects like this is a waste.

How many studies studied Las Vegas?
A funny thing about studies is when you have a preconceived notion, it’s pretty amazing how a study aligns with it…

I’m no fan of taxpayer subsidized stadiums, but they are often paid for by tourist hotel taxes, etc… so you can clearly fund it if needed.

Even if 10,000 people come from out of town for a game… that’s the worst attendance in MLB…and it was Oakland… that’s almost a million visitors. And you know fans are far more likely to make a trip to Vegas than Oakland or other boring destinations… attendance will be high. The Raiders essentially sold out every game, and they weren’t good. The Knights sell out.

$1.5 billion is peanuts these days.

The math isn’t the same as a local stadium for a city like Milwaukee, where the bulk of fans don’t spend the night.
