The owners of the house on Highland Road own the three or four tracts of land "behind" their property, across Bayou Fountain on the Burbank side. Just like the article states, they are tiny homes meant to be rentals. So they are inviting random people to stay on their flood-prone property, 500 feet from their actual home. One of the most random business decisions I've heard of in a while.

Seems like a pretty good decision, for land that has minimal real value based on the cost to cure. With the Parish's latest storm water requirements and Corps wetland requirements, houses on piers is likely the best use possible. With the tightening of permitting requirements in our area, it's beginning to be a cheaper option to put land into commerce.
