No matter how good the employee is, screw ups or bad decisions are going to happen at scale. If the pool you're hiring from is already lower on the socioeconomic spectrum the likelihood is dramatically higher. I used to have to manage a bunch of call center employees making $12.50 an hour and there were maybe two I trusted implicitly, but even they were capable of making mistakes. The rest were just a fricking terror.
