Iron sharpens iron, in zero way shape or form would I send my kid to another school to avoid competition. That is setting such a shite example for your kid that running away from competition for personal gain is acceptable.

Im curious how the parents that are thinking this would somehow know their kid would be top at another school. Trust me their 27th ranked kid isn’t that special 
I also wouldn’t change my life for my kid to get into a better school because of a ranking. Go to community college at that point and save money. It’s cool to be proud and all to go to a big school but if you’re not studying a few specific programs then it’s just another higher level of broad education.
