My brother has a side gig and tutors high performing kids at the Thomas Jefferson School for Science and Technology. One of the elite high schools in the United States.
Those kids are brilliant and they're getting an outstanding education that will prepare them for college and beyond.
None of them are transferring to a mediocre high school in Fairfax County to game the system. They know that high scores and a good resume trumps being a big fish in a tiny pond.

Those kids probably aren't trying to get into a public university either, nor are they worried about money, or anything else.
