I wouldn't be reaching for my plate carrier for a B&E. I got one during the Alton sterling shitshow. My thoughts that when stuff like that or BLM riots go down I want to be able to get back to my family and home. Having a carrier with ammo and medkit would be just as useful as having a rifle.

Riots, loss of law and order, and civil war are more of a threat than an invasion on our soil iyam.

Hell, if we lost the power grid to an emp or something, it would take no more than a few days for society to collapse with no water or electricity. Bug out

I can agree. I'm just at a point where I have some money to spend on other things first. First is the rifle. I have a stripped lower that I've been meaning to build up for years. Need to finally spend the money and do that. Then I'm planning to take some defensive shooting classes (handgun and rifle) along with a stop the bleed class. Then once I'm done with that, I'll feel like the next step is spending ~$500 on level IV plates.

Or you can YouTube guys who make their own plates with fiberglass welding curtains, resin, and ceramic tile

. It's actually impressive how well some of them work.
