I'm pretty sure the WHO DAT cheer originated at some S.W.A.C. school. Some black LSU students that used to sit in the upper reaches of the student section in the late 70's/early 80's started yelling "Who Dat, Who Dat? Who Dat talkin bout beatin dem Tigahs, Who Dat, Who Dat?" and it caught on pretty fast......

I think you may be thinking of "Tigers to the Top" from the 1981 basketball season. It's song number 12 on the Hey Fightin' Tigers CD.
It's not anything like today's hip-hop or even early rap. It was pretty cool for 1981 but would probably sound a little cheesy today.
One of the lines was "The purple and gold will go the Philly way. LSU will be the champs of the NC double A".
Here's a link to a brief clip...

Ya'll do know that the lawyer E. Eric Gauirard (sic) is the one who wrote and sang this.... I think.
My bad.... E. Eric sang TIGERS TO THE TOP which is on this same album.
