re: Have you ever ran over a dog?

Almost happened to me. I was driving in West Virginia hill country up a hill and a deer jumps on the road and just pauses (Deer in the headlights) I swerve to the right as he jumps last seconds to other side of road. Almost ran off the road.

It was a rent-a-car for a work trip where we were all staying in a lodge. I didn't tell anyone I was taking one of the rental cars to the gas station to get tobacco late at night. I don't know if company would've got pissed or not and how insurance would work if I did wreck.
