But it can’t be illustrated better than this game why Zion NEEDS to have the ball in his hand in clutch time

This is where I wonder if this board has watched the same games I’ve watched .

Zion has been a turnover machine in clutch time and ineffective overall when it has mattered most . He is part of the reason the Pels were defeated in every close have they had played this season before yesterday .

The Pels went to Zion on the most important possession of the game last night and he had his stuff pinned to the glass bc everyone knows he’s going left and can only score at the rim.

We lucky on the next possession that bi was able to swipe the putback attempt and fit a great bounce ti start the break. To Zions credit he ran the court harder than he has all season and made a great finish .

This is where I wonder if you watched the same games I've watched. Turnovers in the clutch aren't exclusive to Zion. Whole fricking team is bad with the ball in clutch.

His conditioning and our refusal to play through him in the clutch is why we lost during those times. We haven't built a crunch time identity worth a shite because of this.

Wemby made a great play, up until that point Zion was killing him off the dribble.

Yeah that's not true. He's been giving you that sprint for the past few weeks now

This board has watched more than a dozen games this year where the Pelicans had a solid, sometimes double digit lead, at the 6 minute mark only to watch Zion be pulled and see the lead completely evaporate while the momentum and energy completely changes in favor of the opposing team. After the 6 minute substitution, we routinely go 3-4 minutes without scoring, and often times without a single good look. You completely discount the turnovers and lack of offense during this stretch and always focus on 1 or 2 possessions in a game that was a double digit lead minutes earlier.

Zion absolutely has had too many turnovers on the last 2 minutes. But, rarely do we ever see a shot clock violation or end of clock heave when the play starts with the ball in his hands. Those things are common as hell down the stretch when he doesn't touch the ball.
