I'm 62, been hearing that sort of thing since I was a preteen. It is usually a statement that no one is making new music that is stylistically what I like.
Most of us get comfortable and prefer to stay in that spot. know I do it a lot. When I force myself to actually listen to newer music I always find some unexpected gems. But I also usually circle back to my comfort zone. Pitfalls of getting old, I think.
