Most of Mainieri’s recruits weren’t big enough to get in the MLB
He loved the 5’4” 145lbs players
The shortest player during Mainieri's years as HC at LSU was Tyler Hanover and he was 5'6" and he weighed 163 lbs. He was a 4 year starter (2009-2012) mostly at third base.
