True.. i would just add, maybe instead of discussing ur planned vacation during the hiring process- why not just wait until you are extended an offer ? After every offer ive ever had, the next question is usually ‘When are you able to start ?’ Or something along those lines.. You can either say youre available on xx date (after whatever vacation you have planned), or you can let them know your plans and say “i dont mind starting before then , but ive already paid deposits for hotels’ or whatever, if you wouldnt mind honoring that scheduled vacation, or i can just start after we get back .. Ive never had a problem .
