Heard had a legit prototype NFL tackle size as a senior in HS, and wasn’t remotely lacking in athleticism.
I’ve heard scouts say that for kids THAT BIG it often takes a little longer for them to figure out how to coordinate their movements, since it’s just so much body to coordinate. I’ve heard Darnell Washington (former UGA TE) cited as an example of this - apparently, at the various camps and all-American events, he’d occasionally do something jaw-dropping but otherwise looked way overmatched; obviously he grew into an absolute beast. I don’t think heard ever looked anywhere near that bad, but there was definitely a lack of coordination to his movements at times, which sometimes gave the appearance of slow feet or average athleticism. But his top end reps did NOT have that appearance. So if you buy this scouting theory, I definitely think Heard would be a prime candidate to appear more athletic on tape with greater consistency once he gets accustomed to his enormous body.
Weston Davis is sort of the flip side of the coin. He unquestionably moves incredibly well at present—but he also has a good deal of filling out to do, so there’s definitely a possibility that his quickness is diminished at higher weights.
All of this is to say that I don’t think Weston Davis’s movement skills make him a slam dunk better prospect than heard. He’s a helluva consolation prize, and I don’t think we’ll necessarily miss heard too much even in 2025, but i still personally think I’d take heard if given a choice between the two.
Of course, you’re not allowed to say anything remotely positive about anyone who leaves the program so I’ll go ahead and just take the downvotes from all the people who can’t handle anything but unadulterated sunshine at all times

You actually make some good points. Basically time will only tell. We won't know the answers until both have finished their careers, and see how they compare.
