For one thing, the Natty last year was a little flukish. LSU was not the best team that year, so the fall isn’t as far as it might seem.

Again This was not a statement on coaching. But you cannot win on a tournament setting with 6 players unless that are all premier players. And HVL is not a premier PG. She is too slow and doesn’t handle pressure well especially when she doesn’t really have a quality backup to give her rest. In a tournament setting with multiple games in a few days it will be an issue. She’d be better off getting some of the younger players experience and let them make those mistakes early.
