For my personal use, yes they are. I got rid of gas trimmer and blower a few years ago. Ryobi 40V system FTW.

My battery blower and trimmer do the job just as good as the gas ones I used to use. I have the smaller 2.5 AH battery and can do both using only half the battery each time I do the yard.
