On face value, I love this. However, the devil is always in the details. Also, as a general rule, I do not trust politicians. No matter the letter next to their name.

This. We already have a fairly dysfunctional DOTD (anyone remember how many contractors they went through just to widen I-10 years ago?), for example. While I am sure there are lots of cuts available, somewhere around 1/3 of the state's revenue comes from income tax so at least some of that money will need to be collected from other sources.
