It does actually, especially if you’re claiming “serious bodily injury” and felonies.

Yet the actual driver of the boat was only charged with misdemeanors so I don’t believe anyone was seriously hurt…so everything you and the other poster have been saying doesn’t even align with what the driver was charged with.

People watch too many cop shows and think laws on those shows are the law of the land.

I’ve also heard that him and the boat operator actually stopped and talked to them initially, but the only side of the story we have is the lady who went to the news. Which is a problem.

So somebody involved broke several bones, and "nobody was hurt"?

Whatever.

This story grew and morphed from the moment it was posted here. The early part of the original thread didn't mention anything about injuries. Then, the usual "I know a person who knows a person" shite took over, and the rumors started flying. Firecracker (a poster) showed up with an axe to grind and levied quite a few charges (and wouldn't even give me a price on the wrecked pontoon boat), more people said they heard more things and it wasn't good.

Meanwhile, it all played out with minimal charges. I imagine some of that was good ol' boy connections playing out as well as the incident not being quite what it was made out to be in that thread. Both of those can be true at the same time.

ETA: And Firecracker, who I suspected to be female, refused to even follow the most basic rules and post a pic.

Yeah, and then they ran when the boat they hit realized the the driver was drunk.
