I would probably go with a high-dose Propofol drip

I was just reading about the Alabama execution and how it didn't go so well and I was wondering why they don't just use propofol.

Well, it turns out the manufacturer won't allow it. They will not sell the drug for purposes of execution: Propofol can't be used for executions, drug-maker says

I often wondered why they didn't just put the inmates to sleep using sedatives used for surgery and then just kill them while they're sedated. Well, I guess the reason is because manufacturers of such sedatives don't allow it!

I bet the Chinese would have no objection to Fentanyl use. I wonder if there are fentanyl powders that work in food. They could develop the gumbo of death, coffee kill, or pizza supreme. Allow the prisoner to choose their "Last" meal, and after a certain date and time, whatever they eat or drink would contain a lethal dose of fentanyl. I wonder how many would starve to death and claim unusual painful punishment. I think most drug enforcement agency evidence storage rooms contain lifetime supplies. A few weeks back, they claim to have intercepted enough to kill everyone in the USA. JUst use that.

Prison officials are saying it's because the inmate was actively trying to hold his breath during the execution. This could be true, and if it is, this execution method is inherently flawed and shouldn't be used.
