I actually agree w/this.

I've been a huge critic of Blank of late but I'm actually glad that he didn't give into his fawning for Belichick and wanting to go w/the sexy hire.

Sometimes, a lot of times, less sexy is better and the best moves are the ones that you don't make.

If Morris had never been hired at like 32 or whatever, when he was clearly not ready, he'd be seen as one of the elite coordinator types for HC jobs. He's coached in a lot of systems under a lot of elite HCs. He's done 4-3, 3-4, Tampa 2, Fangio derivative, offensive coaching, etc.

The Rams had a lot of young late round draft picks on D and they were respectable this year. It's crazy what he did in the middle of a total tear down and rebuild.

Hiring Bill and letting him install a puppet front office would probably have underwhelmed. Especially when they still need him to go out and get a QB.
