Per the Russians, it was shot down by either a Patriot battery or an IRIS-T.

The Russians had given the Ukrainians the flight route.

Our source in the OP said that all exchanges take place according to the same scenario and this is not the first time that Ukraine and Russia agree on air routes. Now there is a big stir on Bankova, they decide how to act in the situation and on whom to dump the vein for violation of the agreements, and most importantly the death of Ukrainian prisoners.

quote:

Our sources said that transport planes have not been flying to Belgorod for a long time, and today a route for the exchange of feat was agreed. At the moment, it is being found out who conducted an uncoordinated operation to destroy the aircraft, there are more than 10 groups of GURs with MANPADS operating on the territory of Russia, who were not aware of the agreements on the aviation route.

The GUR coordinates the exchanges, it was probably someone in the MOD who made the mistake.

More from Resident

Our source in the OP said that the situation with the downed Il-76 is very difficult for the Office of the President, since Bankova and the General Staff coordinated the route, and there were actually Ukrainian prisoners of war on the plane. The plane was shot down by mobile Ukrainian air defense, which moves along the entire front line without coordinating the route so that the information does not leak. Now we need to admit the fact of such an operation, and most importantly, take responsibility, and no one is ready to do this now.
