This is never a good idea.


Remaking any classic without changing the name / obscuring the connection is about 99% doomed to failure because there typically isn’t much of anything to improve on.


It’s better to take a film that had potential but failed, fix the flaws, and try again rather than try to recreate a classic.

Hell, they did an experiment at one point where a script was sent to all of Hollywood for a remake of an all time classic without pointing out what it was. Every studio passed and only one noted it was Casablanca.
