Red pummelo fruit?

I worked at Southside Produce in BR for a while it was a good experience in learning about many kinds of unusual produce however we never came across these. Saw them at walmart earlier.. I thought they were huge yellow grapefruits at first but no. Sounds hispanic maybe they are native to somewhere south of the border. Anyone had one?

If I remember correctly, they crossed pummelos with tangerines (or was it mandarins) to get grapefruits.
I do know that pummelos were crossed with a variety of tangerines to create the tangelo.
That's all I got.
