Man, March can be all over the place year to year. If the weather has been mild, early is killer. OTOH, late is generally safer. Bottom line, if I am going after bass, I go early. If I want to do a combo bass/perch, I go mid/late.

The big thing is what all this rain going to do warm it up mid lake or cool it off?

I imagine water in 40’s right now.
Low in the creeks and higher in the lake.
I haven’t been in a month or so just guessing from past experience.

I have crushed them in mid-February wearing a T-Shirt and shorts, and I've damn near froze to death in March wearing Columbia bibs when I couldn't buy a bite.

It's all about watching the weather and stringing together a week or more of mild/warm temps.
