It’s almost like they were caught completely off guard by his retiring. Makes you wonder if he didn’t give the administration a heads up. I find it hard to believe he’d to that though.

Either way the university had to have known this day would be coming soon, the man is over 70, and should’ve had a plan in place.

If you are to believe him in this interview, he said he made the decision 5 minutes before having a year end meeting with the team. So I'd say administration didn't have a heads up.

what do you think they could have done differently? there is no plan. coach in waiting is stupid and no better. what else is there?
